PLANNING
This will follow and support the planning of my rock music magazine. Exploring layout ,color ,fonts camera shot/angles lighting themes and connotations surrounding the Rock genre. Due to Rock being such a vast genre to explore I will be primarily focusing on Modern rock as this will help to maintain and support a target audience, and so I aim to closely direct my music magazine at those aged 16- 25 who wish to discover new upcoming artists as well as share there thoughts and words about the Modern rock community.

Working title:

SMASH.
"SMASH." is a word with a powerful meaning that strikes the viewer and that supports the genre. this will help the magazine stand out from others that may be surrounding it in a store.
Genre:

Modern rock magazine.
Due to that being the target brief
Target Audience:

Young men and women aged 16-25, individualists as well as Main streamer's.

This is the target audience due to Modern rock being seen as a trend set by younger generations
Price:

£4.99
Seeing existing music magazines a sensible price to set for my Rock magazine would be £4-4.99 as the magazine needs to make a profit in order to be successful.
Convergence:
Informal language

This is so reader can be drawn into a social group in which they can get involve in the Rock community ,whilst discovering new artists and making a valid contribution to the community.
Feedback from primary research will act upon

Primary research shows that the target audience want to know what to do for fun as well as being informed with exclusive news and interviews
I will act upon this and “smash” the two together and make them the main focus of the magazine

REPRESENTATION:                                                                                          Why?
Choice of model on front cover:

An attractive female expressing connotations of superiority as well as demonstrating a strong rebellious attitude.

This will help to explore the connotations I am trying to express encoding iconography of the Rock genre.Capturing rebellious attitudes associated with the target audience as well as this the use of a female model will draw the viewers attention as it breaks away from the mainstream representations and masculine views about the specific genre therefore appealing to both male and females with the audience.
