PRELIMINARY TASK:  MY MAGAZINE PROPOSAL                                               Why?
Working title:

Smash
It’s a would with a powerful meaning behind it as well as being unusual for this genre of magazine and so will hopefully draw the attention of a passer-by
Genre:

College mag
Due to that being the target brief
Target Audience:

Teenagers, aspires
This is the target audience because college magazines would not have information that anyone outside of this audience would be interested in.
Price:

£2
Due to the survey results most people stated that they would pay for a £2-2.99 college magazine
Convergence:
Combination of both an informative and social

This is so reader can be drawn into  a society in which they are heavily informed about what’s going on as well as being socially involve and having fun.
Feedback from primary research will act upon

Primary research shows that the target audience want to know what to do for fun as well as being informed with exclusive news and interviews
I will act upon this and “smash” the two together and make them the main focus of the magazine

Model will be a smart young male or female that’s teenagers going into college can aspire to.



This will make the target audience clear and so influence the audience and possibly lead to a purchase.

This will interact with the target audiences looking at the person in the picture as someone they can look up to and wish to be like.

This will give a vibe of “I’m more successful than you” and so draws in aspires

A quite area in order to show the serious side of our sixth form.

He’s a smart student that is serious about reading and education.

A symbol of greater education.

Smart suit or formal clothing
Show he is a well presented individual.

Makes the audience believe they are in the room with Roden.
Gestures/Body language:

 looking into book
This shows that he is drawn into the atmosphere and so is not distracted by his surroundings.

Outside the school building
This gives the viewer an understanding of how the building looks so it welcomes them if they come to the college.

Morgan
A smart well-presented young woman that can be seen as an example for the younger generations.

Symbol of greater education.
Costume:

formal clothing
Shows she is as smart person who is serious about her work.
Shots:

Low angle full body shoot

Targets the female aspires within the audience.
Gestures/Body language:

Smiling towards the camera making eye contact.
Engages with the audience and draws them in by giving off a welcoming vibe.

Using a website called surveymonkey.com I created created a questionnaire which would allow me to collect information from existing students and what they would want from a college magazine.

College magazine research
Before I begin making my music magazine I will student college magazines as a way to improve my skills with the technology I will be using whilst I learn to understand conventions used throughout media products.
